Think Tank Think Tank

Dear guests, participants, attendees, and friends of THINK TANK 2020:

There is nothing more resilient than watching a child fight and beat cancer.

Legat Architects has its own “superhero,” our Super C!

Caeden is five and a half (he will tell you “almost six!”). He is proud, confident, funny, caring, and outgoing. He is also strong, present, brave, and resilient. Another thing about Caeden—he is fighting and beating leukemia.

On October 8, 2018, my son Caeden was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He immediately began 3.5 years of chemotherapy treatment, surgeries, spinal taps, and steroids. He was taken out of preschool immediately and isolated. His immune system was suppressed, and germs were his biggest enemy. The next nine months of his life involved high dosage chemotherapy that would tax his body and veins. Steroids would cause muscle breakdown, and he would shuffle his legs to walk.

For a parent to watch a child endure this treatment is heart-wrenching, but the light at the end of the tunnel is knowing this treatment will work. It is also amazing to see the drive and determination of a five-year-old beating leukemia. Caeden takes each treatment with a smile on his face and never complains. Often, he is in pain from treatments, and he has an amazing ability to dig deeper and get through these moments. There is nothing more resilient than a child fighting cancer.

This year, Think Tank donations will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help support their mission to cure leukemia and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

In honor of our own Super C, Legat Architects is committed to matching up to $3000 of the donations we receive through the Think Tank 2020 event.

Thank you,
